I am a writer and an examiner for examiner.com specializing in grandparenting in Iowa, though my column is Des Moines. Des Moines is the featured city for Iowa and is our state capital. I have only been there since April of 2009 but have managed to climb to the number two spot for top examiner writers.

Remarks have been made by other markets of examiner.com and the low payscale but what many writers don't realize is that to build an online presence you have to start somewhere and writing is not always about the money to be earned but about finding your voice, your audience and a platform to launch a writing career. We all have to start somewhere and if you find a niche that fills the void and your muse soars than money should not be your main reason to write.

I have very strong opinions concerning big governement, grandparents rights, the economy and life in general and I am not afraid to say what I feel.
