I am a nurse practitioner specializing in wellness and disease prevention. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and have lectured extensively and written for nursing/medical journals. I have recently started a company called Heartstrong, LLC with my co-worker, it is a health care education and consulting business. Our goal is to get people to live a longer and healthier life. Our first book was release in Jan 2009 called "Take Charge: A Woman's Guide to a Healthier Heart." Our second book is called "Take Charge: A Man's Roadmap to a Healthy Heart" this is due to be released December 2009. Most People Know What Healthy Habits Are, But Do Not Know How Or Where To Start. That is what our books and seminars discuss. Please visit www.carolynstrimike.com for more information.

By involving the local community, authors, publishers, editors, journalists and all forms of the literary world, we are opening their minds and bringing hope where there was doubt.
Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
