My first attempt at writing was in the third grade. Our teacher had us take the list of spelling words for that week and write a story using those words. Much to my teacher's chagrin I elected to write something befitting "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" (that was one of my favorite TV shows back in the day). She told my parents the story was certainly imaginative, but a bit too gruesome for the other third graders.
Eventually, after a few aborted attempts at writing short stories, I gravitated to screenwriting (I hold an MFA in screenwriting). The idea of writing a book was simply too overwhelming, too intimidating. Oddly enough, when I finally worked up the audacity to write a book, it turned out to be a non-fiction piece dealing with religion.
I also teach film production, as an adjunct, at the University of Miami. When not writing or teaching, I operate a small video production company.
Regarding my book...
Ironically, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints around the world are admired for their values. Yet their admirers are repulsed by Mormon doctrines at the same time. How is that possible? Where do the Mormon values come from? What is the source of their doctrines?
This book attempts to set the record straight as it pertains to some basic Gospel doctrines as taught by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and how they are scripturally founded in the Holy Bible.
I would like to connect with you there also. I am trying to make more friends and fans so that I can spread awareness for breast cancer during pregnancy. I was diagnosed Stage 3 in the 5th month of my pregnancy in May. My status updates on Facebook and LinkedIn are usually about my fight.
Thank you for the add. I am new at writting, so all of this is Greek to me. But I have also started writing a script which with both projects, and acting, grandchildrem and my husband I stay pretty busy.
