- In the spirit of the cult classic The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams: Beautiful Aranna Navna plans to conquer the galaxy one planet at a time. She steals the Awesome Lavratt, a mind control device, from a freighter in Horace Whistlestop’s junkyard. She takes Horace, too. With the Lavratt, Aranna manipulates the thoughts and desires of everyone around her —- until she gets to the Emperor of Calistania. Then things go from bad to worse for Aranna. The Lavratt, however, has only just begun! Oh, the fun you can have from a small cube with mind control powers. Travel the galaxy with Tyrantz Lavratt. Silly science fiction at its best. All puns intended.
If Ann Wilkes’ alien worlds don’t hook you, her sense of humor will. She has a unique voice that draws the reader into alien realms of danger, intrigue and rollicking adventure. Her science fiction stories have appeared in several online magazines and two print anthologies. When she’s not writing, she loves to read, walk and dance.

Free story online and Northern CA appearances
I have good news. My funny flash fiction piece, "The Heist" is up at EveryDayFiction. Stop by and read it and vote.
I'll be at the Afternoon with Local Writers at the community center in Cotati put on by Redwood Writers Club (see their website for more info or mine) on June 21 at 2 PM. This is a free event.
On June 22nd, I'll be reading (probably a short story- though books will be available for sale) during open mic at Finbar Divine's in Petaluma at the Pints, Poetry and Prose event (6:30PM).… Continue

Scribblers’ Retreat is not the typical classroom setting. It was designed to bring world-class authors, literature professors, editors, journalists, illustrators, photo journalists, proofreaders, publishers, publicists, screenplay writers, and website/graphic designers, etc. one-on-one with young and old alike. It is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone who has had a manuscript in a desk drawer for 40 years or who has an outstanding poem that simply must be read.
