A lot of people want payment for reviews, copies of books etc and it all adds up. One great place I have found is http://www.readerspoils.com/authors.html it is $15 a review (they do it in hundreds as well if you ever want 100 reviews *grin*) and they take a pdf/word file. Every little helps...

Gladys, Storyheart,
Congratulations on your reviews. Storyheart you got 20, 5 star reviews, wow and Gladys, you know you have one big fan to have read three of your books. Looks like you're on the right track. I didn't start seeking out reviewers early. Lessons learned. My first reviews should be out in January/February.

Well, I've a long way to go to get that problem!

Gladys, yes those reviews and the 5 star ones make all the difference. Perhaps not to sales, but to you the author they are a bright ray of sunshine. I am very lucky; in the two months that my book has been out I am up to 24 reviews at Amazon, 20 of which are 5 star. It's go so bad, that if a week goes by without a fresh review I get withdrawal symptoms.

Promoting any book is not easy, trying to get readers to buy the electronic version is even harder, especially when you don't even know anyone who reads them. My Awakening Love (Stonehedge Publishing) seemed to be languishing unloved — a Cinderella missing out on the popularity charts! Yes, the book has excellent reviews but I am convinced it is READER reviews and STAR ratings that attract potential readers and the sooner the better as nothing succeeds like success. I was beginning to think the book needs repackaging when the first reader review appeared along with five stars. Has it affected sales? I have no idea but it gave me a lot of pleasure! Here is the review:

Few are able to write romantic fiction with the skill, ardor and sensitivity of Gladys Hobson. Gladys lays out her characters in such vivid color and her plots with such perfect timing that one can't help but be swept up and carried along in her delightful tales. This is the third book I have read by this author, and she never disappoints.
