We all know that having a good pagerank is key for people to find your book/website/blog when they do a search on Google or Yahoo or MSN. How does one get their site to come up in the top 10 search results? Well, besides having good content the biggest factor is the number and quality of backlinks one has pointing to your site. The more you have, the higher pagerank you get. Besides exchanging links with friends or associates, the three biggest ways to get backlinks are Web Directories, Press Release sites, and Article Directory sites. Not only will these types of sites give you exposure, but they will give you a backlink pointing to your site/blog.
I've put together a list of over 400+ Web Directory, Press Release, and Article Directory sites that you can submit to and increase your pagerank. Here it is:
http://www.bauuinstitute.com/Marketing/Websites.html. If you slowly go through this list and use the right keywords, your book/blog/website will show up in the top 10 of Google and other search engines... this is perhaps the best form of free promotion one can have.
Cheers,
Peter
